There always seems to be a flaw when camping. Something wrong or not right. We went camping [ or should I say " lodgeing"] as a Girl Scout Troop this weekend. Our lodge was perfect. A big room, indoor bathrooms, a nice kitchen, and it was clean. Friday night was just fine. We worked on our silver award "Journey" thingy. We had fun and laughed all night.
Saturday was different however. We got up, had a nice breakfast, played some games, and had lunch. In the afternoon, we went to archery. After about 45 minutes, over half the girls went back to the lodge. I stayed with some others and we kept archering. [ Is that a word?] Suddenly, some of the girls who had gone back to the lodge ran down to archery yelling our leader's name. She told us to stop and she ran to the lodge. We stayed waiting for her to come back down. When she did come down, she told us that our perfect lodge smelled like terrible gas. She told us we had to wait for a " gas guy" to come and check it out. " If the guy comes and says it's fine, which it's not, we are leaving. If the guy comes and says oh ya it's just a fill in the blank then we will stay." That's pretty much what she said. I was cool with that plan except that I was pretty sure we were going home. We went to a dinning hall some where we wouldn't freeze and get lost in the dark. We had fun.
The guy said it wasn't ok to stay, or at least that's what I thought he said because we went to go pack our stuff up. We went in to the house which smelled faintly of gas and packed. We hurried because the gas was getting stronger. In the end, we went home. And even though we had wanted to stay, it was nice to leave the gas full lodge.
