Camping with the neighbors...always an adventure

This weekend I went camping with my neighbors. It's always a good time. Like the time the girl's tent flipped upside down because no one staked it down. I don't really believe in curses, but if there is such a thing neighbor camping is cursed. Though this time, we had set our hopes high. We weren't sure if we were going to go in the first place. Rain and cold was all the forecast said. After pondering the weather, we decided instead of going on Saturday instead of Friday. It was one night, but I still wondered if there was going to be a storm or something else ridiculous.
We left early on Saturday morning to go three hours to southern Illinois. When we got there, we found three spots one for each family. Then Fiona's family arrived. Iris' family wasn't there yet so we decided to go for a hike. We found the trail we ventured on had giant rocks. So we spent our afternoon climbing, almost falling, and being daring. I loved the rock's view. You could see every thing above, below, and around you. The sun shown over the mass of turning yellow trees. The blue sky collided with the trees on the horizon, it was beautiful. We then went to eat lunch. After getting lost we ended up at a hiking trail. So we ate lunch and then decided to walk the trail that lingered in front of us. The rock formations again, were beautiful. We traveled through one and ended up walking different trail. We passed a formation that hung over us. It dripped water that would occasionally land on our noses. We found our way to a lake and we joked about going swimming. Then we walked back. Some of our group suggested going back to the camp site to see if the family had arrived. They weren't there. So we decided to hang around for a while. They showed up a little later and wanted to go on a hike. So, we went back to the one we had gone on to the first one. I climbed for a while but then became bored. We finished and went back.
Dinner was Chili. I really enjoyed it because it made me not so chilly. We ate and talked about weird stories for a while. [ One contaning pigs who ate their farmer.] Then, we went to bed. I don't know how many covers I had, but there were a bunch.
The next morning, we all got up chilled to the bone. I don't know who started the fire but whoever did, thanks. It was Daisy's 8th birthday, so after everyone else got up we sang happy birthday. She wasn't in the best of moods so we just sat around the fire till breakfast.
Later in the day, we went to cave in rock. It was a giant rock with a hole in it. Like a really big hole. Sadly, the walls were covered in graffiti, but it was still really cool. Then, we went back to a playground to have lunch. For a while we played on a old beat up merry-go-round. After we ate,we left. This weekend was really fun, maybe next year will be too.
