I am really tired. My girl scout troop went camping this weekend and though I am tired now, it was a lot of fun. We left on Friday. When we got there our troop leader figured out how to split us up into cabins. I was with Iris, Genevieve, and Fiona. It was really nice considering we were all really good friends. Then, we split into patrol groups. Patrol groups are just groups of people who do a certain job on each day. I was with three other girls and I was the leader. After that, we had dinner. Then we stayed up for a while and played then went to our cabins for bed. I didn't fall asleep until 12:00 because the leaders talked and laughed and chatted like birds. That was not a good night.
The next morning we woke up and shivered in our sleeping bags. Fiona had a tank top on and it was around 40 degrees outside. I really dislike having to get out of my sleeping bag. Eventually, we ate a breakfast of bagels, cleaned up and went to our horse back riding class on the top of a hill. We had to walk all the way up. After a long walk up, we got a tour of the stables and other stuff. Then, we got to ride horses. Iris really wanted a horse called Kentucky who she had ridden before. She got Kentucky. I got Elvis, the fattest horse in the barn though he was really cute. I wasn't really happy because I had been Assigned to a different horse first. Elvis was really cool because one of the trainer people really liked him and I like to think we became friends. We rode by the archery place and traveled through the woods. After words, we learned about cleaning a horse. Phoenix, the horse we got to brush was really cool. She had really pretty eyes and a pretty mane.
After that we went back to our campsite and ate lunch. I had like the best tasting taco ever. Probably because I was so hungry. A little later we went to go canoeing. Only about half the girls did it and I was one of them. No one really did it that long because it was drizzling. So, we went back and were ready to go to archery in like 40 minutes. We were the last people that day to do archery so we could stay as long as we wanted. But oddly, we found out that some one had missed there time and really wanted to go that day. So, they were put after us. It really stunk because we originally were going to go a little later because some girls in our troop were going to leave that night. So, we just did it instead for Sunday morning.
At the end of all the craziness we started dinner which I decided to help out Iris and Fiona. It was soup. I didn't really care for it because it had a lot of squash and other squash related items. So, I mostly ate bread and salad. Later we had a strawberry dump cake. It was amazing. Then, the fun really began. My patrol was on cleaning. We had a lot of dishes to wash in the dark. Putting it lightly my other patrol people bailed out on me and I was stuck with cleaning the huge pots and pouring out the gross water. They helped some but most of the time they were hanging out with their friends. I was really mad then. So I finished the job. I had finally finished and everyone was around a fire. I sat down and tried not to look at my joyful patrol.
We went to bed much earlier because we were all really tired. In the cabin we talked for a while before falling asleep. The girls in a different troop were singing as loud as they could till 10:00. There were 30 of them. It was nice though because I fell asleep much quicker.
The next day we packed up and my patrol got to make breakfast, which was omelets in a bag. We chopped up food and cooked the omelets. After that, we cleaned up the cabins by sweeping them. Then we went to archery. I had a lot of fun. I never hit any of the balloons on the target, but I did get a couple of bulls eyes.We then went back to the campsite and some ladies came and checked to make sure we had cleaned. We left tired, smelly, and hungry, but it was a really awesome trip.
